Biography
David Jones was born and raised in Monroeville, Alabama. He became interested in drawing as a young child.
David attended Auburn University where he studied Fine Art and Graphic Design, focusing on painting and illustration. He has a BA in Visual Art from Auburn University at Montgomery.
David studied with several of the country’s best plein air artists. In recent years, David has won numerous awards.
He is a member of several art organizations including:
- Montgomery Art Guild
- Booth Art Guild at the Booth Western Art Museum
- Alabama Pastel Society
- Southeastern Pastel Society
- Alabama Plein Air Artists
He paints in oils and pastels with the style of painterly realism. Landscape, still life, and wildlife are the main subjects of his paintings.
David resides in Monroeville with his wife Cindy.
