Colorful patterns, abstract shapes and dramatic shadows always attract my eye. I am drawn to these qualities. These beautiful, exciting moments that I see in the botanicals I grow or sights I see while traveling enrich my life and my art. The play of the late afternoon sunlight enlivens objects with radiant colors, patterns and deep shadows which catch my attention and present ideas worthy of paper, paint and brush. I paint in a realistic style with a strong graphic and impressionistic basis. Capturing these rich moments and passing them on for others to enjoy is what I strive to accomplish with my watercolors and mixed media.
