TITLE: “Her Name is Three Wishes”
EXHIBITOR: Itumeleng Jr Boitshwarelo
DESCRIPTION: Little girl making three wishes.
“This painting was created out of deep hopes, prayers, grief and WISHES, based on the darkness trying to overcome good happenings around the world.
The tons of girls held hostage by Boko Haram for so long – and still, the slave trade in Libya, the shootings in schools, new developing diseases, hunger and high rates of poverty all combined together brings darkness, as shown in the drawing created with a media of chalk pastels mix Hope, Love and Protection together comes light, by that we can help each other.
The first wish of this drawing, being the Green wish, is “Hope”; hope of change for the world to be a better place in the future by that we should listen to what the world needs. The second, wish being blue, means “Protection” wish for our families to be protected against evil and all dangers, and the last wish is “LOVE”, which is the red dust. So red means loves, hate has never been greater than love, love conquers all.”
MEDIUM: Abstract Realism done with Chalk Pastels.
